Community Impact Matrix

In January 2014, the United Way Board of Directors approved the updated matrix, which highlights four focus outcomes.  Any program applying under one of these outcomes could be awarded five points that are not available to other programs.

In September of 2012 we unveiled our goals, or outcomes, through the Community Impact Matrix at the Campaign Kickoff. The Matrix outlines the goals we would like to achieve in the community through partnerships and funding in the areas of education, income, health and safety net services.

In our efforts to share these goals with the community and to gain feedback around barriers to achieving these goals, we began quarterly conversations in October.

On October 30, 2012 we had the first Community Conversation and focused specifically on our Education goals. Twenty-five community members met us at the Zanesville City Schools Administration building to discuss barriers to acheiving these goals and how United Way can play a role in education.

On January 29, 2013 we held our second Community Conversation at MCBI and discussed our Income goals with 18 community members.

Notes from these conversations are below.  If you see a possible partnership, or would like to comment on our goals, please contact Amy Davis at
