Have you filed your taxes yet?
More than 280 state and federal returns have been filed for FREE at volunteer tax preparation clinics in Muskingum County through the Financial Stability Partnership. To date, local federal and state refunds for participants total more than $342,000, and not a penny was spent on preparation fees or refund anticipation loans.
Free tax preparation is still available for individuals with simple tax returns and 2009 incomes below $57,000. We are unable to complete business returns at this time. Participants may also qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit based on income, marital status and number of dependent children.
Call the Tax Assistance Line at 454-6872 ext. 230 to see if you qualify for one of these FREE tax preparation clinics.
The free tax sites are possible thanks to the Muskingum County Opportunity Center, AARP,
Muskingum County Center for Seniors, The Ohio Benefit Bank, Brighton Presbyterian Church,
St. Paul A.M.E. Church, Rolling Plains United Methodist Church and Wolfe, Wilson, & Phillips, Inc. in cooperation with United Way of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan Counties.
