The Big Brother/Big Sister Program in Perry County matches adult volunteers on a one-to-one basis to single-parent children who are in need of guidance and companionship as well as positive social and psychological development. The Girl Scout Leadership Experience is girl-driven, reflecting the ever-changing needs and interests of participating girls. It provides girls in kindergarten through twelfth grade with a wide variety of leadership opportunities. The program encourages increased skill-building and responsibility, and also promotes the development of strong leadership and decision-making skills. All program activities are grade-appropriate and based on the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, as well as on the Girl Scout Promise and Law.

United Way funds are used to help cover the cost of the Student Assistance Service in the Morgan Elementary Schools. The program works with teachers, students, school administrators, and most importantly, the student's family to provide on-site early intervention services for students with school related problems, such as academic under-achievement, acting out behavior, and poor social interaction.
