Healthy Meals for Healthy Minds
Program Description: The Appalachian Children Coalition’s Healthy Meals for Healthy Minds program promotes the link between healthy nutrition and overall behavioral health. Children and families will receive information about services and supports that are available to help them overcome challenges in their lives, education about healthy eating, free health assessments, and all the food they will need to make a healthy Thanksgiving dinner.

Y on the Fly Program
Program Description: The Muskingum County Family YMCA is bringing the Y on the Fly program to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Appalachian Ohio Lunch Buddies program at Foxfire Elementary. Through this partnership, students will enjoy STEM activities, physical play, and arts and crafts that encourage learning, creativity, and healthy lifestyles.

Perry County District Library - Food Insecurity
Program Description: United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan Counties has partnered with Perry County District Library to combat food insecurities. In an effort to provide food to children while also developing a love of books and encouraging growth through literacy enrichment, the PCDL bookmobile is able to distribute meal packs to those under the age of 18 at all community stops while children borrow books and engage in library programs. Each month approximately 50 children benefit from this food distribution. In addition, United Way provided funding for 130 family meal packs to be distributed throughout the county, helping 130 individual families in need.

Reproductive Healthcare
Program Description: Family Health Services of East Central Ohio provides stigma free healthcare to all. We provide Reproductive healthcare, STI testing and treatment, and victims' services on a sliding scale. No one is denied services due to inability to pay.

Bridges to Wellness
Program Description: Bridges to Wellness is a care coordination program dedicated to liking individuals to community resources in Muskingum County. A Community Health Worker will meet face to face with a client, complete a comprehensive assessment, and devise a plan with the client to break down the barriers they might be facing regardless of insurance they may have.

Perry County Community Foundation - Fill the Freezer
Fill the Freezer
Program Description: Fill the Freezer invites buyers at the Perry County Fair’s Junior Livestock Sale to donate their hog purchases to help stock the freezers of local food pantries and fight hunger—one pig at a time. Since its inception in 2021, the program has shared more than 46,000 pounds of locally produced sausage with neighbors in need, helping to reduce food insecurity across Perry County.

Emergency Shelter – Housing & Utility Assistance – Soup Kitchen
Program Description: The United Way helps us with three different programs here at The Salvation Army. We housed 363 homeless community members in our emergency shelter, served 25,000 meals to the community in our soup kitchen and helped 248 families with rent and utility assistance in the past year. With United Way’s help, we are anticipating being able to help just as many this year.

United for Kids
Program Description: The Muskingum County Family YMCA provides weekend food bags to more than 150 children at Zanesville City Schools and Maysville Elementary School. This program ensures that kids have reliable access to nutritious meals during weekends when school meals are not available.

Washington-Morgan Community Action
Program Description: The Senior Nutrition Program of Washington-Morgan Community Action provides hot nutritious meals to seniors in Morgan County. Program service settings include congregate, and home delivered meals, depending upon the individual’s need. While the main goal of the nutrition program is to feed seniors, the program provides seniors with much more than just meals, congregate meal sites give participating seniors the opportunity to socialize with others, while the Meals on Wheels program delivers meals to the frail, sick and homebound seniors. For many congregate and home delivered meal clients, the nutrition program not only provides a meal but also friends. The Senior Nutrition Programs provides more than 20,000 meals annually to seniors in Morgan County

Food Farmacy Boxes
Program Description: United Way of MPM partners with local Health Care Systems to supply community members with emergency food boxes when they arrive at a doctor’s appointment and are food insecure. United Way also educates community members on how to access local food pantries to ensure continued food security.

South Zanesville Village Fire Department
Program Description: The United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan Counties is partnering with the Village of South Zanesville Fire Department to provide carbon monoxide detectors to community members. Fifteen local fire departments across Muskingum County will participate in the initiative, installing detectors in households to help protect residents from the dangers of carbon monoxide exposure.

New Lexington School District - United for Kids
Program Description: United for Kids provides food for students during the weekends and holiday breaks. With the food provided, students can come to school prepared to learn.

Program Description:
Perry County Mobility Management connects residents to safe, reliable, and affordable transportation options through the Safe Pathways program, which coordinates rides for vulnerable residents, accessibility improvements such as wheelchair ramps, and outreach for community well-being.
